Here are just a few of the reasons why you should stay with us at The Old MG Bed and Breakfast!

House Features

The house has hardwood floors, most of them original.  The dining room features dark wood wainscoating and a large brick fireplace which has been restored and is sometimes used during breakfast hours on those lazy winter weekends while lingering over another cup of coffee and warm muffin.

The over-sized dining area can comfortably seat a housefull of guests or a party for birthdays, baby or bridal showers, company parties and meetings or retreats.

All of the rooms have ceiling fans and individual air conditioners.  The heating is hot water baseboard and provides a warm and cozy feeling throughout the living areas.

A screened in porch provides a secluded evening's opportunity to watch a glorious sunset or the early rays of the morning.  You can take your morning coffee or afternoon tea and cookies to the bench-surrounded deck under the large ash tree that shades it.  There is also a small herb garden surrounding the patio to the east of the house that provides both early morning and late afternoon shade to enjoy a book or conversation.

The roughly two acres of property are a nice combination of trees and open area which provides ample space for outdoor games, a quiet afternoon in the shade, or an outdoor wedding or reception.

A spacious U-shapped drive provides abundant parking for small or large groups.

The house is always extensively
decorated for the holidays,
using period decorations, and a live 10 foot tree.
